Hello, I don‘t know how to post fotos. If I want to post there is an messege that jpg formates are not allowed. Which formate do I have to use?

    Hi Rüdiger,
i think one way to load up pictures is to use something like : https://www.imgbox.de/
Thats the way i made it in the past in several forums.
You just have to fill in the link that imgbox (or others) will give you after you have upload the picture there.
But there is surely another way here!

Why do you not allow users to upload pictures to this site?
I just created and edited a lengthy post - to just find out in the end that I'm not allowed to attach anything. Then searching here to find out I need to use imgur.
Look at popular forums like Roon or PS Audio - they all allow it.

If you need/decide to stick to that limitation, please configure the editor in a way that makes that clear BEFORE someone writes a post and uploads lots of stuff. Thank you.

Edit: I created an imgur account. Just for you ;-)

Many thanks for your input, as we run this forum for free, the forum does cost to run. So to save space on our server we do not allow image hosting. If we allowed image hosting we would need to spend more money thus a more expensive server would be required and a higher monthly cost.
we have configured the forum software not to allow attachments. Unfortunately it wont allow us to hide the attachment button, which would help with confusion, in this instance.

Thanks for the clear explanation. Got it.
Setting up e.g. imgur actually wasn't that hard.
And: Thanks for setting up and providing the forum!

Can we spend money to let the forum run?
Perhaps you can post a Bank account number for free spending.

Not sure what you are trying to say.

Are you trying to say that we should start a donation section so we can spend more money on a larger server?

To be honest having more server usage and storage has it's own limitations as we would need to buy additional cloud storage for the additional storage capacity, it will be easier to allow for image hosting with a third party service.

With the new forum, we have a cloud server for resilience and automated backups, which is a vast improvement from the old forum.

I think for now it's fine the way it has been setup.

kingabs actually runs and pays for the site, so would be down to him to see if this may be an option for the future.

I just want to say that this is a forum without commercials and I would have no problem to spend money for saving this forum.😉
