    Hello everyone

I am a little curious about good matching amplifiers to ATC SCM19. Have anyone tested Quad Artera Solus Play with the SCM19’s? Any other good suggestions?

    cheers 😊

Hello. I suggest ATC amplifiers: SIA2-150, P1 or P2. Other brands: Exposure 3010s, Simaudio 600i/700i, Plinius 9100/200 or any other well-crafted and designed unit from established makers like Pass Labs, Krell, Lavardin etc.

Also consider the Rega Elex R. This should have enough grunt.

I am using Roksan K3 and BlueSound Node2i… and not overly happy. I have probably been to cheap when matching amplifier when I look at the suggestions in this thread 🙄

Unfortunately, ATC speakers demands only the best equipment available. Their potential is huge, and - being so transparent - are entirely system-dependent. So, the better system, the better sound.

Basically I am not interested in speakers that are so good that everything sounds bad unless the recording is perfect. That will limit my music choices to “only a handful” performers and a couple of genres.

I like to listen to a broad variety of music and adding my family it will get even wider.

On the other hand I do not want equipment without the right feeling listening to e.g piano or classic guitar where voices may sound blurry. If I match them with an ATC SIA 2-150, which is within my pricerange, will my experience change or will bad music sound even worse?

I use McIntosh amps with my ATCs, and up to now I'm complete satisfied.

@Fekser: SIA2-150 will be ok with scm19v2. ATC is the only speaker brand I ever heard that could do a piano tone exactly.

But if that comes at a cost where everything else sounds really bad then I should probably consider lowering my expectations to my “piano experience” and look for another set of speakers matching the amplifier - which btw has great reviews

@Fekser: relax, ATC Entry series are really forgiving, much forgiving than Classic series. SCM19 & SIA2-150 with proper cabling (Chord, Atlas, Siltech, Van den Hul) should be fatigue-free. And you will listen proper piano tones.

Hello there - for what is worth, I’ve read historically that Quad 606s and or 909s have been seen as a fine match for driving smaller ATCs. I used Quad QMPs into the Classic 20SCMs but only in the capacity of surround speakers. It was overkill so I downsized the amps considerably!

If you can try the amp and speaker match at home to assess, that would be best.
