ATC SCM19A Active

At the moment I am running Adam's Artist 6 Active speakers, these are now the weak link in the chain.
I have had them for about 7 years and they have served me well.
There is not a lot of room for positioning the speakers, they sit either side of a settee in a bay window and face down the lounge. I tried to attach a picture, but for some reason unable to do this
What are the forum's thoughts on these ATC SCM 19A Active?
I did hear them at local dealers, but would need to demo at home

if you liked the 19s at the dealer, its worth a listen at home.
Or if you have the money try active SCM40 too, the midrange of the threeway speaker makes a nice difference to other speakers.
I have Adam Artist 5 at my PC for years now and i like them very much.

I considered the 19a speakers when they were first released. Very nice speakers, but I reckon the 40a's are a better buy if you can afford it.

Just on what I have read on line whether to have 40A or 19A will to some degree depend on your room size so home demo should be a must. From online info it seems to me that some people who have opted for 19A's because the 40A's bass was booming in their particular space of room.

Good point, Gandolf. Room size is a major consideration. If I had a room much smaller than my 6m x 5.5m room, I would have gone for the SCM50asl speakers. The 19a speakers are incredible and it's more advanced mid/bass driver has more control and resolution. Honestly, I couldn't hear much difference, but others with better trained hearing than me could hear a significant improvement over the 40a speakers. The 40a's go lower.
