  • Does anyone know the exact thread size of the spike mount on the ATC 100 towers?

To order the Audioplan antispikes, I need the exact thread size of the spike mount of the ATC SCM 100 ASL Tower. I have M6 / M8 / M10 to choose from.
Thanks in advance and stay safe. Greetings Rüdiger

According to IsoAcoustics who make the Gaia isolators . ATC use M8 for their speakers there is a calculator on their website which gives the information.
Otherwise you can always email the factory they are always extremely helpful
    regards

fr.jazbec how did the Audioplan Antispikes go?
Asking because I tried the Isoacoustics Gaia 1 footers under my 100ASLT's and thought they made the sound worse in my setup (I returned them).
The other thing about the Gaia footers is that they made moving the speakers and experimenting with placement a PITA.
At the moment I just have furniture felt sliders under the speakers and they sound great.
I'm going to experiment with the much cheaper Herbies 'giant' threaded stud Gliders and see if they offer any improvement.

          Hello Tobes
I didn't buy the Antispikes because I have the Anniversity AmpPacks in my SCM100ASLT. This has two transformers on the base plate and I now use six washing machine feet. Four at the corners and two under the transformers. That works well and reduces the transformer hum.

Thanks for Information about the Isoacoustic Gaia.
          Best regards Rüdiger

            Thanks for the reply Rüdiger.
I'll post back when I get the Herbies fat gliders as to whether or not they are an improvement.
They shipped yesterday, but at this time of the year it will likely be several weeks before I receive them in Australia.

I've now received the the Herbies giant stud gliders for my SCM100aslt's - these have the M8, 25mm, stud.

I wasn't expecting too much as my experience with the Gaia 1 footers was ambivalent at best.
The Herbies gliders only raise the speakers 20mm off the floor and, being gliders, allow very easy positioning of the speakers (unlike the Gaia 1).

From my very first listen it was obvious the Herbies footers were an emphatic improvement.
The whole soundfield has more clarity and the speakers disappear more as sound sources. Positioning of instruments in depth is better defined.
The tone and texture of voices/instruments and particularly transients are clearer and more realistic. There's more delicacy and decay to sounds.
It's like a layer of intermodulation distortion has been removed.
These definitely get a recommendation from me.

                Hello
Now I have installed the Audioplan antispikes under my ATC 100. There was a very good second hand offer and I couldn't say no. The first impression is promising. Bass and fundamental are more precise and of course the rest of the frequency spectrum also benefits from this. I keep watching and then get in touch again.
                Greetings Rüdiger
