I posted in another thread on the forum with a different photo.

All Onkyo system with 7000R cd player (silver) and 3000R preamp and 5000R power amp
Solid 80 watts per channel with big power supply drives the SCM 40's easily.
System is easy to use all remote controlled and preamp has tone controls which can be bypassed but comes in handy with some otherwise unlistenable CD's.
The Scm 40's are fantastic but would eventually probably get SCM 50's for a little more bass but it is hard because I think that more bass might exacerbate room nodes and I might need to win a small lottery prize to pay for them.
In Australia SCM 40 are now $8400 and SCM 50's are $19999
I find the ATC's show the total mix of sound and piano and electric guitar in particular sound phenomenal.
I first heard the ATC midrange and bass drivers in a set of Proac studio 3's in 1986 or so and knew I would eventually get some.
I got them last year and the sound had not changed - what a brilliant midrange driver. And that cliche about the sound being better two rooms away is true because of the lack of distortion and effortless sound ATC's produce.
The new tweeter is amazing as well not harsh but very truthful. Strings sounded a bit metallic and unlistenable on my previous speakers but not on the SCM 40's
I had to have a three way system as had put up with Mordaunt Short MS40i's for years which did the job but lacked midrange clarity.

a good choice of speakers. 👍

i heard them just as actives, but they sound very good in my ears too and work with all musical styles.
Maybe you could use a good configurable sub with them for more bass in the unlikely case that you do not win the lottery.

gregmelb2 - I don't think the SCM50s would give you that much more bass. The SCM40s go fairly low and they have fantastic punch. I reckon later on down the track, you could consider a nice pair of SCM40a speakers as an upgrade. But your system looks great and it would be hard to beat for the money.

My SCM40s powered by Swedish Primare I32 integrated. Sources include Marantz SACD player, Linn streamer and Michell turntable, not forgetting an ancient Hitachi tuner.
