Stolen Mercedes - Keyless entry

A few weeks ago I had my Mercedes E class stolen off my driveway during the night!

You could see from my neighbors CCTV them scanning the house and another one of their accomplices near the car unlocking it using a relay system.

The police did find the Mercedes tracking unit a few miles away.

I just couldn't believe how easy it is for keyless cars to be stolen!!!


My car was around 18 months old and where I am based there are new BMW's, Volvo's, Audi's and Jaguar's yet mine was the only one taken!!!!


We have now implemented:

Retractable bollards
CCTV
Steering wheel locks
Ghost immobilizers
Faraday pouches and box's


If anyone has keyless entry and keyless start cars protect your keys at a minimum with Faraday Box and Pouch.

I would love to hear if anyone else has had their keyless cars stolen and what you have done to prevent this?

Also, can I complain to Mercedes about how easy it was for them to take out the tracking unit?

In Germany this is the normal way of steeling cars. The only protection is to put the key in a metalbox at night.
Hope you get a real price by insurance.

Ridiculous, I have just purchased a new car and have had a Ghost system installed!
