The Sony A7S iii is a mirrorless camera mainly designed for cinematography with low megapixel count to improve ISO performance when filming.
It can be used as a camera to take photos but 12 megapixels cameras were a thing around 10 years ago, these days it's more 24 megapixels upwards.
The reason Sony has chosen to stay with 12 megapixels is the sensor itself will have bigger particle thingys in it to allow for more light to hit the sensor thus cleaner image/ footage.
With higher megapixel cameras it still has great ISO range but won't be as clean as the 12 megapixels.
The smaller megapixel count won't be that great with photography as you will need to crop and will require more detail when doing photography.
I know allot of my cinematography buddies are jumping up and down with this camera.
As you know I focus more on Asian weddings.
Here is a trailer shot from a Sony mirrorless camera think it was the Sony A7S ii
A good friend of mine shot this wedding and we were part of the photography team.
I have received all of my camera gear that you recommended and just wanted to say thank you, it's like a computer in your hand and I can see why you recommend mirrorless, it's def the future going forward!
